POETRY

DOG STAR

March 01, 2024 | by August Huerta

Image designed by Bryan Castille.

In the ghost capsule
Laika the cosmonaut dog
was still alive.
There really is no solace
even in this 4th space I try to make.

This poem is not the right door,
the sort of door that rises to you.
Not the occasion of the door
in which the door of the capsule opens
and Laika lives.
